Duke Ellington 's Come Sunday , arranged by Paul Murtha for solo Alto Saxophone with Concert Band. Come Sunday was originally composed as part of Ellington 's suite Black, Brown and Beige. After a disappointing critical response to its first performance in 1943, Ellington divided the three-part suite into six shorter sections, leaving in "Come Sunday" and "Work Song". It is this version that he recorded for an album of the same title in 1958.
