These four Oboe Sonatas which were originally written by Handel for the treble (or today's alto) Recorder and figured bass are eminently suitable for the Oboe. They have been transposed a fourth lower for practicality and comfort. The four sonatas can also be performed with equal effectiveness by the tenor or the soprano Recorder. Transcribed by Whitney Tustin.
