John Kiefer's Beginning Baroque for Guitar is the first instalment in a new series of transcriptions. This instalment features simplified arrangements of Baroque music. The pieces are monodic for the most part and can be performed with either a pick or fingers. The music in this book has been notated without fingering positions or tablature to promote musical literacy and to encourage all fingering possibilities. In addition to the tunes formatted with melody/chord symbols, four canons and five duets are included. This book is an excellent supplement for basic Guitar methods, Guitar classes and, Guitar ensemble courses.
