Thomas Morley (c.1557-1602) was an Elizabethan composer, organist and printer, and one of the foremost members of the English musical renaissance. He studied under William Byrd and later became organist at St Pauls Cathedral. He almost certainly knew and was associated with William Shakespeare, and is one of the few contemporary composers whose settings of Shakespeare’s verse have survived. He is best remembered for his madrigals such as Now Is The Month Of Maying , but he also wrote many sacred works, undoubtedly for use at St Paul’s. Nolo Mortem Peccatoris is a Latin motet for SATB choir. A Piano reduction is provided for accompaniment, if required.
