John Tavener's mesmerising choral work The Lamb is based on a text by the poet, William Blake. The text has an underlying religious theme and marks God?s love for his creatures, however weak. The beauty and evocative language of the verse is mirrored by Tavener?s setting and together they form a pleasing and effective work. This is the Vocal score for unaccompanied SATB choir though a piano accompaniment is included for rehearsal purposes.
