French trombonist and composer, Gerard Pichaureau (b. 1916) collaborated with trombonist Marcel Galiègue to compile an excellent series to aid the learning of Trombone studies. The first album of Préambule addresses a variety of aspects, including scales, rhythm, arpeggios, intervals, time signatures, accidentals and performance directions, among other features. Moreover, the detailed instructions are in French, English, German, Spanish and Japanese, making for a highly versatile book. For all aspiring Trombone players, Pichaureau and Galiègue 's Préambule fills a large gap by aiding the progress and understanding of technique from the beginning.
