Composed in 1896, while MacDowell was in Boston, Woodland Sketches are among the best known of the American composers piano works. The famous first piece from opus 51, To a Wild a Rose, has been adapted here in solo instrumentalarrangements for E-flat saxophone and viola with piano accompaniment.
