These 6 Little Suites have been drawn from a collection of easily playable pieces published in 1730 by Boismortier (1689 - 1755). They are mainly in the keys of C major and B-flat major making them especiallyappropriate for the Recorder.
Although relatively straight-forward the suites are nevertheless of a high artistic quality and appeared during a particularly productive time for the composer when he was at the height of hispopularity.
The musical text of the original edition has been reproduced here without any alteration and there are hints from the editor, Erich Doflein, about how to interpret the ornament symbols.
