The Fiedellieder for baritone, violin and piano, composed by the violinist Carl Louis Bargheer [a close friend of Johannes Brahms since his time in Detmold] on texts by Theodor Storm, are presented as a printed edition for the first time. The critical edition of the cycle, which consists of six Lieder, was compiled as a hybrid edition at the Musicology Seminar Detmold/Paderborn. The violin part is in accordance with the abilities of the then highly esteemed virtuoso very challenging, but it always remains embedded with-in the interpretational framework prescribed by the text of this chamber music jewel.
