"Everyone Needs a Friend" – Dance with a Stranger's Biggest Hit
"Everyone Needs a Friend" is the most famous song by the band Dance with a Stranger, first released on their self-titled debut album in 1987. The song became an instant hit following the band’s performance at Spellemann 1988 – one of the most significant milestones in their 40-year-long career.
Both guitarist Frode Alnæs, vocalist Øivind "Elg" Elgenes, and the entire band have collaborated with the Norwegian Armed Forces Bands on several occasions. This arrangement was created for one such collaboration and was later recorded on the album "Gudim & Marinemusikken – på norsk", where Knut Marius Djupvik performs as the vocal soloist and Alnæs appears as a guest guitarist.
