Julius Klengel (1859-1933) was a German cellist, composer and pedagogue. He was a cellist with the Leipzig Gewandhaus for over fifty years, and was also a Professor at the Leipzig Conservatory. He wrote around 60 performance works, including several concertos for the Cello. He is best remembered for his three volumes of Tägliche Übungen , or Daily Studies , but his two volumes of Technical Studies ( Technische Studien ) arguably have an even greater pedagogical value. The first volume is presented here, and covers a wide range of key signatures, accidentals, and clefs, with fingering provided where appropriate.
