As music education progresses, children begin to learn the Saxophone increasingly early, often as young as eight years old. Méthode De Saxophone is intended for those young beginners for whom other methods are too complex, advanced or difficult to understand. Being simple and versatile, this method is also suitable for prospective saxophonists of any age. A CD featuring 52 minutes of Piano backing tracks is included with this volume. From the second week of study, students will be developing close musical listening with a diverse repertoire of songs, dances, classical and romantic music from the past and present, as well as improvisational skills. The CD will especially help with this, getting the student experience playing with another (recorded) musician from the beginning. The method will also introduce learning pieces by heart, and varying the exercises in different ways, with lower or higher octaves, differing rhythms, etc. A teacher can use their discretion to develop exercises further, or repeat them or omit them altogether, depending on the student's ability. With Méthode De Saxophone , young beginners will quickly become accustomed to analysis, musical reflection and the association of mastery over an instrument with musical enjoyment.
