Central themes from the vocal works of Damijan Mocnik’s [*1967], winner of several international prizes for composition. In his tonal language one encounters associations between Gregorian chant and other musical “archetypes,” such as folk music, and this occurs primarily in a varied polyphonic and polytonal context.
