Festive triad: Bach - Frauenkirche - Dresden. One could scarely imagine a more festive triad for the Christmas season. As the third in the CD series "Music from the Dresden Frauenkirche" Carus has produced a Christmas concert of music by Johann Sebastian Bach, recorded in the Dresden Frauenkirche. Along with Christmas chorales and organ preludes by Bach there are also traditional Christmas songs. The Frauenkirche Chamber Choir is accompanied by an instrumental ensemble of players drawn from the Dresden Staatskapelle. The Frauenkirche cantor Matthias Grünert plays the new Kern organ, and he is the artistic director of this recording.
