Parade is a work for a Marching Band Percussion ensemble: 2 Snare Drums, 2 Bass Drums, Cymbals and marching machine. It was written in 1956 by the American composer, conductor and pianist Morton Gould (1913-1996). Gould was a child prodigy whose compositional and improvisational skills were recognised early. He studied at the Julliard School in New York with Abby Whiteside and Vincent Jones, and later became a long-time member of ASCAP, for whom he was president for eight years.
