This collection of piano duets in popular styles aims to add variety to piano lessons by providing attractive pieces in a pop idiom. The part for the first player (Primo) is kept simpler than the accompaniment, so that variouscombinations of players are possible: student (melody) and teacher (accompaniment) or two students of different playing standards. In this way the young keyboard 'champions' become acquainted with ensemble playing, keeping thetempo, listening to each other, the conventions of modern rhythms and syncopation, as well as being at ease with pop harmonies.
