This piano reduction is based on the study edition HN9989 that is being published simultaneously, giving access to Debussy's short score in printed form for the first time. The composer afforded the Saxophone few solo entries. Today, in particular in the version with Piano accompaniment, it is usual to give the Saxophone further melodic sections taken from the orchestra. For this reason our edition not only includes the original part but also an additional solo part by Daniel Gauthier, professor of classical saxophone at the Music Conservatory in Cologne. It is the first work for Saxophone in the Henle catalogue.
