Double Take is a work by South-African composer Kevin Volans , arranged for Clarinet in A, with Accompaniment. Double Take was commissioned by the Music Network with the assistance of the Arts Council of Ireland. Volans , a key member of the post-minimalist community, states that he finds composing for solo instruments the most difficult of tasks. Originally composed as a duet for a single player, Volans started to hear a subtle ostinato underneath the main melody, which became the opening of the piece.
