With this catchy pop song about a simple guy who loves a rich girl from downtown, Joel wanted to encourage the ugly guy to win the heart of the most beautiful woman. In Billy Joel’s case, his great talent in writing hit songs was obviously also a factor! And now Stefan Schwalgin has arranged this chart-topper into a lively and compelling performance piece.
