La Strada was originally composed as ballet music and was performed for the first time in early 1900 at the Scala in Milan.Later a motion picture was produced of it, starring Anthony Quinn as the lead.Steven Verhaert has made an exceptional arrangement of this work and has succeeded in preserving the original nature of the music which is frequently caricatural and humoristic.
