With the 2024 Olympic Games taking place in Paris, the Confédération Musicale de France wanted to take part by commissioning a work that would bring musicians together around the sporting event. Composer Thierry Deleruyelle has written a festive, dynamic work who’s flexible ten-part instrumentation is suitable for any wind or fanfare band.
If we had to sum up the spirit of this piece, it would be that, just as in sport, music is a discipline where the most important is to take part for the fun of it!
