The vocal score to Gilbert and Sullivan's Princess Ida(also known as 'Castle Adamant'), based upon Tennyson's poem The Princess. The operetta satirises feminism and women's colleges, both of which were controversial topics in conservative Victorian England. Princess Ida is also the only Gibert and Sullivan production to be written entirely in blank verse.
