The composer studied and taught in St Petersburg, Vienna, Moscow and Germany, his works include a string quartet, a piano sonata, romances and a number of pedagogical articles and studies. Typical of his miniature piano pieces is their captivating, radiant world of melody and harmony and their light and playful character.
