The present newly revised edition of the six Partitas or Suites by J.S Bach follows the earliest edition engraved on copper, done in 1731. Here, the old edition has been taken as the sole pattern.
The chief authority for the observations about these suites is the well known writer Mattheson, a contemporary of Bach and Handel.
