Jean-Yves Daniel-Lesur (1908 - 2002) was a French organist and composer, born as Daniel Jean Yves Lesur. His most famous work is probably Les Cantiques de Cantiques , an a cappella setting incorporating several extracts from the Song of Songs. Bal Du Destin (“The Ball of Fate”) was originally a Ballet written in 1954, and published in 1956, but it is best remembered today as the source of the Piano suite Le Bal , a collection of seven movements for solo Piano.
