Jazz for kids new from Carus! In the "Hoppel Hoppel Rhythm Club" series a group led by the jazz saxophonist Peter Lehel and the composer and pianist Peter Schindler presents popular children’s songs in a creative jazz idiom inviting one and all to swing together. Thus the swinging mill rattles on the rushing stream, the cuckoo and the donkey compete in a singing contest to a cha-cha-cha, the wagon is driven with a groovy "He Ho," until everyone breaks into a sweat, while the bees buzz their little song to a bossa nova. And if someone has baked a cake they can leave with the post coach and bring it right to the beggar man for his wedding. In this way familiar, popularchildren’s songs interpreted by the Hoppel Hoppel Rhythm Club in jazzy arrangements sound surprisingly new and fresh, and with this sound reveal the melodic treasures and word play which are hidden in these great and well-known melodies.
