These two masterpieces of Mozart are particularly important with regard to his treatment of the Viola. Whilst Haydn's use of the instrument is restricted to that of a harmonic filler and accompaniment, Mozart gives the Viola equal importance as the Violin. This edition gives both players the opportunity to study and play from a score and allows the work to be performed from a single stand.
