This CD consists of two "Jubilee" broadcasts from 1944 recorded by the Armed Forces Radio Service to entertain the U.S. military overseas in W.W.II. These Jubilee broadcasts feature the top instrumental and vocal acts in the U.S. in the 1940's, in this case Andy Kirk's prominent big band, the Clouds of Joy, pop singers Bob Crosby and June Richmond, the vocal group Delta Rhythm Boys, and the dixieland band the Bob Cats. The jubilee shows also present crowd-pleasing entertainer Scat Man Crothers and a couple of comedy/novelty acts, as well as an unidentified guitarist who is thought to be jazz-star Les Paul.
