Featuring some of Ellington 's most rhythmic and 'African' works, the album was first released in 1971. This CD contains the original 30-minute long studio recording of Togo Brava Suite , in its entirety, alongside 42 minutes of unreleased material recorded in New York with the same band. Togo Brava Suite features Russell Procope (Clarinet), Norris Turney (Flute), Harry Carney (Saxophone) and Wild Bill Davis (Organ), with Duke Ellington as the bandleader and pianist.
