Flight Iris RD – Red Concert Ukulele with Solid Spruce Top
Flight Iris RD is a distinctive concert ukulele from Flight's Princess Series, combining contemporary styling with classic ukulele construction. The bold red top, black slotted headstock and elegant appointments give the Iris a unique appearance, while its solid spruce top provides a clear, lively and dynamic tone.
Solid spruce top with bright and balanced tone
Beneath the painted red finish lies a solid spruce top, providing articulate attack, excellent projection and dynamic response. Laminate mahogany back and sides add warmth and roundness, creating a beautifully balanced sound.
This combination makes the Iris RD equally suitable for practice, ensemble playing, recording and performance. The concert body offers greater fullness than a traditional soprano while remaining compact and comfortable to play.
Fluorocarbon strings for clarity and projection
The Iris is fitted with clear fluorocarbon strings that complement the clarity and projection of the solid spruce top. They provide excellent note definition and responsive feel for strumming, fingerstyle playing and melodies.
Rosewood and genuine bone appointments
The fingerboard and bridge are made from rosewood, while the nut and saddle are bone. A compensated saddle helps provide accurate intonation, and the 36 mm nut width offers a comfortable balance between compact ukulele feel and useful string spacing.
Slotted headstock and distinctive Princess styling
The classic slotted headstock receives a modern Flight treatment with a black finish and rear-facing tuners. Offset fingerboard position markers, a white acrylic rosette and ivory and white acrylic binding complete the distinctive design.
Optional pickguard – choose your look
The pickguard is supplied separately, allowing you to decide whether to install it. Keep the clean red top uncovered or add the pickguard for a more distinctive traditional appearance.
Deluxe gig bag and accessories included
The Flight Iris RD comes with a Deluxe gig bag featuring 15 mm padding and a padded handle for reliable protection during transport. An instructional booklet with chord charts, strumming patterns and chord progressions is also included, along with a Flight sticker pack.
