Tresillo
A Latin American rhythmic pattern drives Clive Osgood’s Tresillo. A twelve-bar theme launches ten variations, with new melodies growing from the shared rhythmic idea.
The pattern recedes during the middle variations before returning to the foreground. An ascending melody passes from second violin to piano and through the ensemble, while the opening theme returns to bring the piece full circle.
