Mercury in Retrograde – Concert Band – Score and Parts
Mercury in Retrograde is inspired by the illusion of Mercury appearing to travel backwards across the sky. A small collection of notes becomes a musical mystery with a sound that extends beyond its simple building blocks.
Musical shape and preparation
Straightforward rhythms combine with clapping and stomping. Early ensembles can explore precise collective timing and the way instrumental colour helps to tell a story.
